Default 1996 Civic Airbag Replacement

Good Day, Last night driving home I ran over a pile of roofing material that was left in the middle of the road. Unfortunatly for me it set the airbags off, which broke my windsheild. After saying lots of bad words and removing the rest of the material from the road I checked out the car and drove it the mile to get to my house.

With 250k miles on it I really don't want to take it to a dealer to have them replaced. From what I read on the forums replacing the bags themselves is not beyond my capabilities.

What I what to know is what about the sensor on the bumper or whatever it is? What do I need to do after I put in new bags to get it back to normal??
