1997 Honda Civic DX popping noise drivers side
Hi!
I could use a little guidance... I have a 1997 civic DX and was having a problem with a drivers side popping noise when I would pull into a parking spots... So it would be at low speeds and I would turn into a parking spot...pop pop...then straighten the wheel and I would hear just a pop. It wouldn't happen all the time just occasionally. I did a little research and thought like many who post and get responses, it's gotta be the CV axle. I inspected the axle and indeed the boot was thrashed but had some grease left. I figured sweet, easy fix... Replaced the axle and low and behold the popping is still there. Trying to do a little more research now instead of just guessing... So at an idle just sitting I turn the wheel back and forth all the way and I get the pop pop sound, I believe I have the noise dialed down to the driver side but I am stumped on what it is??? Ball joint...strut...tie rod end. Maybe somebody can point me in the right direction... Thanks so much in advance |
Have someone else turn the wheel while you listen outside the car to find out exactly where the noise is coming from.
