i have a 1998 honda civic automatic transmission and i bought it maybe 3 to 4 months ago. when i first bought it, the transmission shifted strong, but lately itll go up through gears one two and three just fine but itll stay in overdrive instead of forth gear and when i bought it it would stay in forth gear, now itll only go into forth gear when im doing around 55 mph instead of 50 mph like it use to when i first bought it. im curious on why its doing this and if theres a sensor or seloniod or something that might be wearing out ??????

 

How's the trans fluid level?

 

i have replaced the trans fluid and it is where it should be level wise and have added lucas transmission fluid thinking it might help but didnt.

 

It always goes bad when you replace fluid in a trans that has never been serviced. Youre normally better off driving with the burnt up swill that's in there instead of replacing it.. now youre likely to have it grenade and have to rebuild it.
