1999 Civic Ex, rear door locks, one is locked, one wont lock.

1) The drivers side rear door is locked and it won't unlock, not withthe power button or the knob on the door. So I am unable to open this door.

Any suggestions?

2) The passenger rear door won't lock, but it opens fine.
I am thinking of removing its door panel and seeing whats going on.

Any suggestions.

TIA

Bob

Yeah, your questions should be answered by removing the door panels and inspecting the lock mechanisms.

Well I removed the door pannels and found the electric accuators to be rusted shut, one in the locked possition and one in the unlocke spet.

Got new ones, doors work great now.

Thanks

Great. Is the weather stripping bad and letting rain water inside the door?

No, but it might have been, I did not get a car fax, so I do not know if there has been any damage, but the doors looked original on the inside, still had the stock plastic etc. on the door.

There was a little rust on one of the bolts, but the door shows no rust at all.

It was a back east car, Ohio I think.
