2000 civic EX Help! engine dies after warms up

Ok after looking at the other Threads I can give more detail on my problem. After my 2000 Honda Civic EX warms up, It will start clicking under the passenger side dash and the engine dies. when I try to start the car the engine pops like it jumped time (sounds like compression through intake). every time I cycle the key I hear the fuel pump activate. if I cycle the key repeatedly or wait awhile the car will start and run fine for a little while, then the clicking starts and car dies.
Thanks for the help.

Does the rest of the car have steady power from the battery when it starts clicking and eventually dies?

I'm assuming that no ECU codes are set. You should try to scan right after it dies, without turning the key off.

It kind of sounds like a bad ECU. The clicking would be the fuel pump relay mounted next to it and controlled by the ECU. You will likely get "fail to connect" from the scanner if the ECU is not working. This needs to be tested while it is dead of course.

Could also be a distributor sensor, but that should throw a code. You may want to check your distributor and make sure the insulator plate between the high voltage (cap and rotor) and low voltage (sensors) sections is there. Running without that will cause all sorts of havoc.
