2000 Honda Civic EX - some issues

Yesterday I bought a 2000 Honda Civic EX 1.6L with 102k miles. I just had the exhaust system replaced from the catalytic converter back. On the way home, I started to smell burning rubber. I looked at the front passenger wheel, and smoke was coming out of the wheel well. Could this be related to the exhaust work?
I'd appreciate any thoughts. Thanks!

I called the repair shop this morning and they said it was normal. That there were some stickers, seals and paint on the parts that takes a day or two to burn off. If it continues they said to bring it in. Sounds reasonable...well see.

I'd figure a reputable shop knowing this ahead of time, would remove the stickers to avoid callbacks.
