Default 2002 civic SI

Hello, I have a problem, everytime i drive in 2 gear and i turn right i hear a clicking noise. its fine in first and third gear. so i took it into honda for them to check and this is what they think/said:

very possible tranny gear problem wiht 2nd gear( gear pack, syncrose) will have to tear down to know for sure. most likely cause is the reverse idler gear contactin the gear hub sleeve set- need to replace the reverse idler gear, the 1st and 2nd synchro hub/sleeve set and the reverse gear holder.

does this sound right?? it only makes the noise in 2nd gear turning right.

Has a bad axle been ruled out? Is one of the axles missing the set ring at the end that inserts into the transmission?

no they didnt say that. they said the cv joints seem fine, and no loose suspension, its like a card in the wheel of the spokes of a bicycle

What's the job cost estimate? Sounds expensive. If so, you might want to rule out a more simple problem by removing the axles and inspecting them.
