have a 2004 civic, first started having problems in oct, signal lights would come and go and eventually all electrical in the dash went ( inaccurate gas, speed, km ect) and heat and radio both wouldn't work. Took it in, got a new computer chip - drove it around for 3 weeks and than same stuff happened with the dash and the car died. Bought a new battery and drove it around for another 3 weeks, and again elctrical in dash is gone, but car is still running. Than go to start car a little later, won't start. Than 2 hours later car will start. Someone please help!!!!!!! my mechanic sucks

 

Try a jump start. If the car starts, measure the voltage at the battery with engine running but every electric option turned off. If it's less than 13.5 volts there is a charging system problem, likely the alternator. Low voltage will make the gauges, etc. go crazy.
