Hmm, I dont know
Being turbocharged makes me thing that he rode it hard.
And yea that price seems a bit high.
What the blue book on it?
(and by the way, aftermarket parts don't necessarily raise the value of the car)

Where is that car for sale? The original owner is local, I know him, bought a bunch of parts from him actually. That car was built well and treated VERY nice when he had it, but he sold it about a year and a half ago.

not worth getting into debt over. You really shouldn't ever pay more than a car is worth. If you wreck it, you're out 1 car + how ever many thousands more you owe on it vs. what its worth.

Not to mention, I dont think a bank will even give you a loan for more than book value

You may be able to talk him down a bit if you don't take the wheels/tires, but you're still going to have to find a way to get a loan on a 8 year old car
