2005 ECU/Relearn idle?

So I changed out my battery today and when skimming through my Hanes manual I came across a paragraph that mentioned any time you disconnect a battery you have to let the ECU relearn your idle. So I followed the instructions of reving it to 3k until fluid had reached temperature and let it sit for five minutes or so... well it turns out from reading into it further on the net I didn't even have to do it.

So now I am wondering from performing the last procedure if I have changed the ECU in regards to how my engine will behave and if I have to do something to revert it back to normal state.

Secondly, could I have possibly damaged my engine from doing this? Having it hang at 3k for a couple minutes? My car does have 214000 on her. To add I now have weird sounds coming from my timing belt area, yet it was all replaced quite recently.

Lastly, thanks, I'm newb and worried sick.

no technically you don't because the computer will re-learn itself but that could take days weeks. days or weeks of very bad gas mileage while it learns you don't want that.did you replace the belt tensionor did you use honda or after market parts who did the job ???
