2008 Honda with constant repairs
Hello, I've been searching for any explanation for the problems with my car and I'm hoping someone might have an idea.
I purchased my 2008 Civic LX from my local Honda dealership in 2008. I had no problems until last November when my Engine Block cracked and I had to bring it back to the dealership to have it replaced. (It was covered because of Honda's warranty extension.)
I had no other problems until the beginning of July when my car suddenly lost power while I was driving and I had it towed to a nearby repair shop. They replaced the battery and alternator but then told me the engine light was now coming on and the car would stop if it ran too hot. After I told them about the engine block issue they had me take it back to the dealership.
The dealership was unsure what was wrong with my car, they replaced the MAP sensor which was dead, replace my entire ECU (under warranty) nothing fixed the issue. They asked if my car had been hit by lightning because it sounded like something was wrong with the electrical system. Finally after going through American Honda they said it was a pin in the Engine Wiring Harness wasn’t connecting. They replaced the entire Engine harness and the car ran again.
After a week the battery light came on and I took it back, I had to have the battery and alternator replaced again.
Another week passed the TPMS sensor light came on, Honda said it was dead and replaced it. After another couple of weeks another TPMS sensor died and had to be replaced.
Yesterday while I was driving during a rain storm my wipers began moving slowly and finally stopped working. It looks like the motor is dead.
Every time I bring it back to the dealership I ask if there is something going on that is frying the electrical components in my car, they say it's just a coincidence and "things break". But I can't afford to keep doing these repairs, the car has 65,000 miles but if the car is junk I'd rather not sink any more money into it.
Any ideas?
Thanks
