2012 defrost question
 

Hi, Soon after purchase I realized that when I deselect defrost mode by selecting floor or some other heater control position that the A/C stays on. The dealer says the only way to turn a/c off is to deselect defrost and then turn on the a/c and then turn it off. Honda responded to a letter by having a customer service person call to tell me she had no technical knowlege so could not answer questions about it. It turns out my daughter's 2009 Civic works the same way. This makes no sense. Does anyone know anything about this problem?

alot of vehicles when you turn the heater on the ac compressor kicks on, i always just pull the a/c fuse or unhook the compressor till summertime.
