2016 Civic LX windshield and mirror distortion

Just bought a 2016 Civic LX a few days ago. Built in November 2015 in Alliston, Ontario. It has excessive glare, subtle and not-so-subtle distortions, and film-like defects in much of the windshield at certain angles. And a funhouse interior rear view mirror. Dealer refuses to acknowledge issue and won't issue a warranty repair, and per what I've read about others who have this issue with Hondas the manufacturer won't approve a replacement because distortion is normal within their quality control specs. wtf. Their return policy likely means I would exchange it for the same model, but to my dismay I found that the other models on their lot have the issue going on too! Of course when I tried showing a manager the distortion to no success, he told me it's my eyes, get over it and stop looking for it. Um, what?

tl;dr: There is a batch of 2016 Civics being sold with not so great quality glass and mirrors, just fair warning to current 2016 Civic owners or anyone in the market for one. People who have this issue -- no matter how slight -- need to speak up and make their voices heard.

Why would you return a whole vehicle because of windshield issues? Are there other "lemon" type issues with anything else in/on the car? You didn't notice this issue during the test drive?

I know it will put you out but it is way cheaper to replace the windshield (usually about $300) an/or the rearview mirror than to go through the hassle of trying to get a new car.

OTOH, you just bought the car a few days. Return it and buy another car (different make or different dealership). Get your money and go. No use buying any of the other cars if they all have this issue.

My 2013 LX (bought new) windshield has a slight distortion on the middle of the passenger's side. I was told this was normal because of the size of the glass.
