89 Si bushing/control arm - impact on safety?

Hi I have 89 Civic Si (125k miles). When I bought the car in 2002 @104k miles there was clunking noise from
the rear suspension. Over the past 4 yr & 20k miles, the noise got worse and now even when I close the front door the shock generates the noise too. Of couse the noise comes when I am going over uneven surfaces. But on even surfaces like freeways the car is very quite. I think that bushing and/or control arm need replacement.

My question is whether the bad bushing/control arm would raise a satefy concern, or whether I can live by without repair as I have done for the last 4 yrs. To replace them (rears only) how much would it cost?

Thanks,
