Maybe your ECU is fried? An RPM needle going crazy? Is that all that goes crazy? Or do other things on the dash freak out? What about the ignition switch?

maybe its ur rev limiter?? could be that the ecu cant keep the signal to keep the revs down and its over revving in its mind and then shutting off?

It might be your mass airflow sensor. It tells your engine how much air it is taking in, and it will tell the injectors how much fuel to give the car accordingly. I would have that checked out, they can wear out over time.

my guess would be that you have a nicked wire on the negative side of the coil making contact and grounding out.

Funny thing is that when it stoped the other day it wouldnt start..went back four hours later nothing, waited till morning nothing..thought about the coil so i hit the distr cap with my plyers an it turn over long enought to get home

once home an still running I tap the cap again it stalled, taped it again it started..so I took it a loose best I could an didnt see anything wroung (should I buy all new cap with ignitor/coils etc... for 190$
