Does it happen when the engine is warm or cold? Like will the car not start you have driven it, turned it off, and try to start it?

yea my sister told me she went to the gas station and after she got done there took her 10 trys befor it started... then another time she drove to town and got food came back to the house wanted to move her car took 4-5trys... when i owned the car i never had that problem, it has sat with out moving i dunno about 4 or more months but even then it started right up, my brother and dad started doing body work and about half way threw it started doing this and my brother says well i dont hear the gas pump when you first turn the key over so we swapped gas pumps out cause i have a parts car which now you can hear it when the key is first turned on but it still every now and then she says it dont wanna start.. i personally think the car dont wanna be sold to her cause never did it with me.. lol

i have a 92 civic lx. I had a similiar problem just mine sat for a year. i couldnt figure it out for the life of me. i put new plugs and wires a new battery checked all the fuses and changed oil and tranny fluid. checked all the vacuum lines and a new fuel filter and everything i went all out trying to find the problem.

one day i picked me up a solder iron and some solder came home pulled the main relay and it looked fine. but i figured since it was already out i went ahead and resoldered every connection. since then i havent had a problem.

mine through a CEL everytime i was having problems starting it. even while cranking. after a few minutes it would go off and i would hear a click in the area of the fuse box and the car would start fine. untill i fixed the main relay. it gave it a few more horses back to.

Sounds like the main relay to me as well. I decided to buy a new one ($50) instead of re-soldering. Haven't had a starting problem since.

Mine had similar problem. Sometimes did not start hot after it sat for a few minutes. I did not have it any more after I replaced the fuel filter.
