Exclamation 94 Civic Strut Fork?!

I have a 1994 Civic CX hatchback. I order a full set of skunk2 racing struts and coil springs. However my strut will not fit into the strut fork. The forks inner diameter is about 1.35 and my strut diameter is 1.65. I called tech support and they are telling me that there are two different strut forks for this car. I've called around and everyone tells me that there is only one fork made for the civic, del sol, and integra. They all measure out to be 1.35. Skunk says some people have wedged them open and used them that way.. But the bolts wont slide through when i do that bcuz it makes a bad angle. So I am stuck now with these front struts and dont know what to do. Surely someone out there has has the same problem. Skunk says this is the only strut size they have for my car. I can only grind out so much from this fork before running out of anything to grind. What are my options?!
thanks
