95 civic 2door power window problem

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to test the power window master switch. Drivers side window button stopped working It had been cranky for a while working on an offbut now does nothing. Passenger one still works fine.
Purchased supposedley good used one. it does exactly the same nothing on drivers switch but passenger button works fine . is this coincidence or something else. what should i check. Are there fuses????

thanks

ohmmeter checks that.
have the switch out
(this is a rocker switch (spring loaded, right) ??)
there is a wire coming in and a wire going out.
no continuity with the switch not pressed and then press the switch and should see contiuity on the ohmmeter.
need not worry about pos or neg with this ohm meter test.

The contacts inside the switch are probably the source of your problem. You could always check the fuse box. That would have been easier to check than swapping to a new window switch.
I had that problem with an Accord. After taking apart the switch assembly, I noticed the metal was dirty and worn. I cleaned the contacts and rebent the copper pieces so they would make good contact for both up and down. The good news was that it worked. The bad news was that the auto-down feature didn't work anymore. When I put it back together, I couldn't get the switch reassembled properly for the auto-down clicky-piece to seat properly and work. :(

It seems the switch is good. Is there a fuse for it.... Remember the passenger switch works fine... Could it be the motor?
How difficuly is it to get to it?
is there a way to get the window up without the switch? manually

The power window has a fuse associated with it. I don't know exactly which one. You can take a look at the fuse box underneatch the driver's side kick panel.

It is difficult to get to the motor after removing the interior panel. I don't know if there is a way to manual the window up. The internals are not gear-and-cogs like the windows in older American cars with a window . In the Honda, there's a motor that acts as a winch and it is pulls a metal wire in an internal pulley system to raise and lower the window.

I had the replace the motor in the passanger side of my old nissan I ordered one out of the junk yard and payed like 50$ for it, I just had to take off the door pannle and squeese my hands in the small holes to get everything situated. The motor I replaced also came on the tracks due to there is no way you could get the actual motor itself off the track. Its not a hard job. Oh yeah and make sure the lock on the driverside is not locking to prevent your passangers from rolling down that window. After I installed the motor on my nissan it still didn't work...........yah at least that was an easy fix pushing a button. : )
