Is the engine oil low? Does the oil pressure light sometimes turn ON? What weight oil are you using? Ticking is sometimes the sound of loose valves, if the noise is coming from the top of the engine. Try localizing the noise using a rubber hose by placing one end against your ear and the other at various engine locations. The sound will be strongest when the end of the hose is nearest the clicking source.

2) Top brake light rattles really bad
High mount brake light? Open the trunk and check for something loose in or around the brake light.

3) both passenger and driver window rattle
It's a Civic. They rattle! But seriously, is the weather stripping worn out?

4) ALOT louder then it should be (exaust leak possibly?)
Put the front and then rear end on stands. Inspect the exhaust system for holes from the exhaust manifold to the muffler.

5) have to refill brake fluid like 3 times a week
Start by searching for the source of the fluid leak around the master cylinder, front wheel calipers, and rear wheel cylinders. I guess the brakes are spongy?

6) E-brake works very little. can barely lock em up on snow/ice
Pull off the rear wheel drums. I suspect that the star mechanisms for automatic brake adjustment are seized. If so, clean them up so that they rotate freely and then reassemble. You may also need to adjust the e-brake cable.

7) when car idols and lights and foglights and radio are on everything is really dim. i have to have my brights on when drivin in the dark so i can see
Use steel wool to clean the battery posts and connectors, as well as the battery ground wire connection. Check whether the alternator belt is tight. If the problem persists, take the car to AutoZone so that they can test the battery and alternator (free service) for you.

8) sometimes the whole car shakes violently when idoling.
Do a basic tune up (replace plugs/wires/distributor cap/rotor) and then clean the IACV (see link in my signature).

1. the valves need an adjustment
2. see if you can tighten up the thrid brake light or shim it with some paper
3. weatherstripping failure?
4. grab a towel, and have a friend hold it over the muffler outlet while idling and look/listen underneath the car to find the leak
5. the rear wheel cylinders are probably leaking and need replaced and if so get new brake shoes too
6. this problem is related to #5 so after doing what's mentioned in #5 and adjusting the rear shoes this should be fixed
7. Alternator is probably going bad have it tested
8. check the plugs and wires, also the idle could be too low, or maybe a bad motor mount

1. Adjust the valves. Also, a little ticking is normal in Honda engines.
2. Check the bolts holding it to the rear deck
3. Check the weatherstripping, and check to see that the window is securely bolted to the regulator
4. you have a fart can
5. leak somewhere... look everywhere brake related for leaks
6. possibly out of adjustment
7. crappy bulbs maybe? fogged headlight lens?
8. check ignition timing

Get on those brakes (5 and 6) immediately. Brake fluid must be leaking out somewhere. I agree it's likely the rear wheels. They need to be checked anyway since the hand brake doesn't work, as it operates through the rear brakes. Take the drums off and look for fluid, worn-out shoes, or shoes that are far from the drum because the self-adjuster is not working. You should see brake fluid on the inside sides of the tires with a leak that bad.

Other common leak spots are the hoses leading to the front wheels and the master cylinder. I think on a '96 a cylinder leak will run out between the cylinder and booster. Some models leak into the booster and you can't see the fluid, as it then gets sucked into the engine. Also this fluid will ruin the booster.

i only have 1 o2 sensor hooked up becuase suposidly i need a cat to hook up the other one. even tho theres another hole in the header wich just so happens to be the same size as the o2 sensor. so i just put a plug in the hole for now

is your exhaust stock or aftermarket i dont remember and im too lazy to check your buildup thread? Im thinking retighten all the bolts, make sure the dounut that connects from your header to the exhaust is good...then make sure the plug for the o2 is tight and the 02 itself is tight...then run it to see if you got the same problem. as for the clicking most likely its a valve...
