Post 96 civic ex with d16y7

wasup HCF i'm new to this site, but i was hoping someone might be able to help me with a problem i'm having.I have a 96 civic ex auto, the engine gave out at 285k mile. i dropped in a d16y7 with a manual trans i did the whole conversion. i'm currently using the d16y8 auto ecu/engine harness on my d16y7 m/t set up. i ordered a d16y7 m/t ecu from ebay, now my question is this; will i need to change the engine harness, or can i keep the d16y8 harness? is there anything else i need to do in order to make this a successful set up? any helpful advise is welcome, and thanks.

I think the EX auto and DX manual both have the 3 wire IACV, so harness would be the same. The wires for VTEC and A/T solenoids will just go unused. So in short, just swap out the ECU you can leave the harness alone.

No. You have transmission codes being set in the ECU now because it's expecting to control an automatic. With a manual ECU it should be exactly like having a manual DX/LX.
