'97 1.6L Valve Cover Question?
Hello all,
Newbie here, with a question.
On a '97 1.6L valve cover, there is a hose that attaches to the left rear (while standing in front of the car looking at the engine bay) of the cover, coming from the air box. Is this fitting (on the cover) open or closed off? I'm asking because my son's car has an after market valve cover, and this hose fitting seems to be plugged or was never open to the inside of the cover. When checking the oil, or removing the oil filler cap, there is a suction sound indicating that a vacuum is building up in the engine.
Any help would be appreciated.

Forty04,
Thanks for the reply... Kinda what I thought.
My son loves the car, and we just had the timing belt/water pump replaced. I asked the wrench if he knew, and he said he thought so, but said I should check with someone familiar with all the different types of Honda engines.
Although on a limited budget, my son has done a nice job making the car (black) a bit of a head turner. He's added 17" Nakayama RSX 5 rims, a carbon fiber hood (got a great price), blacked out/smoked headlights & tail lights, the usual 'Thumpin' stereo, K&N short intake, Flowmaster catback exhaust, and this 'Tenzo Racing R' blue valve cover.
I'll drill it out, and see if that helps.
Nice Forum you've got here. Very similar to the motorcycle club I belong to.
Thanks for the reply.

Glad I could help, and that you're enjoying the site.
When you do drill it out, make sure you've got a breather filter for it. You can get them at Autozone for liek 10 bucks, and it just looks like a tiny version of an Intake Filter..

Good luck!
