97 automatic cranks but wont start

Was running fine the previous day then abruptly decided will no longer run. It turns over but does not want to run. Has fairly new battery with plenty of voltage. Just replaced the starter and coil a few weeks ago. I hear the fuel pump. And also verified fuel pressure by disconnecting fuel line at the rail and i see gas coming out when i try to start. I also have spark at the plugs. I checked all the fuses and I get no error codes since the check engine light is off. Anyone have any ideas before I have to tow it to a shop? please advise.

Check if the timing belt has skipped.

I was thinking about that but I cant get the timing belt cover removed to take a look. The one bolt is impossible to get any leverage with a socket or a wrench...ugh. I will keep trying.

might wanna check the ICM or "ignitor unit" as its called on the honda parts diagram. Its inside the distributor next to the ignition coil.

I had a similar problem. cranked and cranked. maybe 1 out of 25 cranks would catch, and then sometimes it would stall soon after. replaced the ICM and the wires attached to it, and problem was gone. may have been a loose connection at the wires, but i had the spare parts so i replaced the whole thing.
