97 civic 1.6ILS coupe engine light and location of ecm/ecu
 

Hi Recently the car has been of the road for a few months the battery went dead so recharged ok but now the car hunts when it is warm and idleling and now the Engine Light has come on
The question i have is how can i fault find this i cant find where the ECM or ECU is. I have a haynes manual for the range up to 96 and it mentions being able to diagnose by putting a jumper wire accross two terminals and reading the check light for codes is this still the case with the 97 civic ??
Any help apreciated on the location and diagnostics.
The Garages here in Ireland are not to helpful with this type of thing and want to charge a fortune just to look at it.
