97 Civic d16y7 problem questions

Oh so I've got a 1997 Honda Civic LX d16y7 non VTech. (which everyone probaly knows lol) but I have a few questions about the car and I've never really worked on Honda's as I've been raised around American muscle my whole life and have worked at an engine shop for the past 10 years but imo there's no better daily then a Honda lol. But first question do these cars have naturally noisy valve train? I don't notice anywhere near as bad till the car warms up. It is there when cold but very quite.. second question is what is the "warm" idle on these cars? When first started and cold its between 13-1500 as it fluctuates but once the car warms up it will drop down I'm guessing under 500 as it doesn't have Mark under a thousand and the car starts shaking real bad so didn't know if I needed to adjust the idle somehow or what also it changes with how much of an electrical load is on the car (headlights, radio, heater, ect..) any and all information would be greatly appreciated thank you all in advance..

Also a little more info on the car. I bought it about 4 months ago off a family friend. It has 137xxx miles, was told the timing belt was done around 80k but don't really trust that so after the Christmas season is over I'm doing it again, everything's stock no aftermarket parts. And I know for a fact he drove the car thru a flooded underpass at one point to where water went up over the hood but the car didn't die and he drove it about another mile shut it off at the store and came out in the car wouldn't start for about an hour and then change the oil and it's ran ever since..
