98 civic help please

Hey guys, my girlfriend has a 98 civic. This morning she said that the cars Check Engine Light came on. Now when she starts it, it just tries to die and begins to shake. I was wondering before I drive way over there if there is a common problem that you guys have had or heard of with this problem/year.

PS: My garage of the past couple of years consists of 01 and 03 cobras, and my now Lightning. I am ignorant to foreign cars when it comes down to the little stuff. ANY help you guys can throw me would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Bobby

Stop at autozone and Buy a OBD2 Code reader for 75 bucks. you will be able to use it on all your cars also. It is well worth the money. Then go to OBDcodes.com to see what is wrong.

You will need to pull the codes for CEL. It could be a simple problem such as O2 sensor going out.
