98 civic - power locks not working
All four power locks are not working via the remote keyless or the driver's side switch on the door panel. All the power windows work fine. Any one else ever experience this? Any ideas?

RE: 98 civic - power locks not working
fuses are fine. I haven't pulled the door panel, but that's next. Is the harness connection that you refer to solely for the power locks? If for the windows, too, then I doubt that's the prob because the windows are working.

RE: 98 civic - power locks not working
You say all the fuses are fine, but did you make sure to check the fuses in the box under the hood as well? There should be a 20A fuse that's part of the door lock system. Also, you said that the doors aren't working, but are they not unlocking, not locking, or both? The keyless entry won't activate the locks and niether will the driver's door switch, but what about the passenger door switch? Does it function or not?

RE: 98 civic - power locks not working
I have the same issue. I checked the 20Amp fuse under the hood and it was good. I think the remote works for the driver's side only, as well as the inside switch working for the driver side only too. I am thinking it may be some sender from that driver side solenoid? not sending out to the rest of locks. I will post if I find any more clues.

RE: 98 civic - power locks not working
hey, i have a 2002 civic and i have a similar problem, the remote lock works fine, but the drivers side lock will not lock itself, just the other 3 doors, its a 4dr. I would also like to know the solution to this problem, i too have checked the fuses with no problems appearing>[sm=interesting.gif]

RE: 98 civic - power locks not working
I have had similar problems and have resolved some. Only the driver's door lock would work with the key FOB or the inside switch. The issue was a loose wire on the connector between the door and the wire harnes going back into the cabin behind the front left quarter panel. Had to remove the panel, use safety wire to provide a wdge for the wire connector, and then tie-wrap the loose wire to another wire to hold it in place. Worked fine for a while. Now the key FOB will only work the driver's door. The other doors will work if the driver's door is open and no one is sitting in the seat. I replaced the module twice with used ones. Still the same. I will be looking at other loose wires after reviewing the wiring diagram again.
