Default Defrost Element Unattached to Rear View Window

The left side defrost element has broken away from the glass on rear window. It looks like the adhesive, or how ever it is attached, has lost it's hold. Will this be costly to fix? It is winter here in Utah and when the temperature is below 30 degrees Fahrenheit, the ice out does not scrap off.
