Hello all,
New around here and to Honda in general.
Quick question for those with more knowledge than me. My friend has a D17A2 with a blown head gasket in her 2004 Civic Si Sedan. Quote to repair is $1900 at an independent mechanic I trust.
My neighbor is selling a 2004 Acura EL with the same D17A2 for $300 with a trashed interior and beat up bodywork.
Cost to switch the motors over is $900 at the same mechanic and the Acura can be resold for $300 scrap so total cost is $900.
Any foreseeable problems with swapping these motors over? Or should everything just bolt up?
I can't imagine they would be very different....
but what do I know about milking chickens...
