Default 98 EX Hood Cable Replacement

The plastic part of the hood cable is broken. The hood will open and the cable seems to be fine. Talked to the dealer and they said the entire cable needs to be replaced. I am a cheap a** and want to do it myself. i have a Chiltons book and a Factory Service Manual and neither of these detail the process. I think i have to actually remove the drivers side body panel, but I am not sure.

If anyone has replaced this cable and can give me some basic instructions or tips. I would appreciate it. I know I can do this but I just wanted some advice before I dive into this.

well my cable broke and u do have to replace the whole thing but go to a juck yard to get it.

its pretty easy, follow the wire from ur hood (on my 94 it was inside the driver side fender) take off the fender, ull see where to stick the wire through.
