98 LX Engine Swap: D16Y7 to D16Z6 V-Tec?
My 98 is dead after 300,000+ miles... Threw a rod through the block.
I have another civic available to me for next to nothing. The engine is fine. I'd like to swap motors between the two cars. The donor car is a 95 EX V-TEC. Both cars are standard shifts. The 98 is an LX. Put it this way, when I scrap the extra car and blew motor, I'll make money in the long run. This is how this swap is feasible, it's free...
Can this swap be done? If so, can someone give me a run down on what to look for, what gaskets I'm going to need, if any, and what kind of computer issues should I expect? (Actually, would I be smart to put the donor car's computer in the LX while I'm at it?)
The donor car has a new clutch already in it, so I'm thinking I may as well just go ahead and swap trannies while I'm at it. Good move? I know the LX's tranny is good, should I risk it?
Any help would be much appreciated.

keep the SI transmission with the D16z6, use the Y7 engine harness and get a obd2to obd1 adapter (or build yer own) and use the P28 OBD1 SI ecu from the donor car. or if ur ballsy try to integrate the z6 harness into the y7 (do alot of repinning and depinning). its up to your technical abilities. i also build custom adapters too if your interested. id need to sacrifice your obd2 y7 ecu of its plugs and what not. priority shipping to make it cheapest. pm if interested or need anymore on this

Staying OBD2...
I just about decided to just swap lower ends now. From a lot of reading online, it appears that I can stay OBD2 if I just swap the lower units. I'm keeping my LX's head, intake, exhaust, and all the accessories and just put this top end on the 95's lower end. From what I understand, I can keep my 98 wiring harness without changing it.
My last question is, "Can I still run the transmission that is on the 95's lower end?" It already has a new clutch installed, so I haven't cracked them apart, and I'm hoping I can use it.
The only issue I've found so far is that the 98 has a timing sensor and a coorsponding plug on the wiring harness. The 95 bottom doesn't have this sensor. So, what do I do with that plug on the wiring harness?
