Angry Engine noise when is warm & 1500-3000 rpm

Hi All,

My civic 2003, coupe, is making some thiking nose from the back part of the engine only when is warm and when is running from 1500 rpm to 3000 or so. It was changed 2 engine seal and oil was changed also to 15w40. Where I live is too hot in summer and not so cold in winter.

Do you have an idea the root cause of this? it would be a signal of major problem

Adjust the valves. The engine does not have self-adjusting valve lifters, so periodically you have to adjust a screw on the end of each rocker arm to compensate for wear.

Also you should not use 15W40 oil except in worn-out engines that burn a lot of oil when you use the recommended kind, which I think is 5W30; 10W30 in very hot conditions.

honda says 5w20 so use 5w20-5w30 full synthetic would be optimal in your environment.

At that mileage and age of the car it is time to change the timing belt, if it has never been done.
