99 civic dx tranny
if the replacement tranny is only 300bucks with a 30day warrente id say go for it! just be sure to change the fluid in the tranny. since its out of the car you can easily just turn it over and let almost all of it run out. same with torque converter. hopefully the replacement tranny also comes with the torque converter as well just incase theres a problem with yours.
thats one reason why i love a 5speed... if a gear goes out just skip it.LOL
but if you plan on keeping the car for along time the rebuild might not be so bad of a idea to spend the extra money!
if mine ever has a problem im gonna take it in for a complete rebuild. plus its cheaper if you drop the tranny yourself and just drop it off to them
no removal or instal fees! that alone can save ya 500bucks easy!

If you get the transmission flushed, don't get it flushed with the machine, the machine can stir around debris in the transmission and mess up the tranny prematurely.
Do repeated drain and refills to achieve similar results as a flush.

Dont rebuild just replace with a JDM . Way cheaper than rebuild, For 1500 you can about do a whole engine tranny swap jdm syle
I keep seeing this JDM thing- what is it? I'm a Jeep guy....
JDM is Japanese Domestic Market
so if an engine is JDM, it came from Japan. The good thing about JDM motors is that they usually have low miles when they are sold used, and the JDM counterpart to a USDM motor is usually a bit more powerful.

completely true though.
the way you can tell if something is actually JDM is that usually it is a used part
and it helps to know what the JDM stuff is suppose to look like prior to seeing it for sale
for examples, check out passwordJDM.com and go in the used section, that's all legit JDM
I'm going to try the several flush method. What do I do? Drain and refill I know- but do I run it? Put it thru the gears? Drive it between flushes? I don't know squat about Hondas cept for they suck when they break down! LOL
