Default AC Question

Ok why do I have a working AC switch, when I have no AC? Unless there was one and it was removed. How would I check something like that?

Check in the engine bay. Do you have a compressor or can you see a small rad for the A/C in front of your engine rad?

There is no sige of an AC compressor or anything. Its a 96 DX, a sunroof is about the olny option I see. I was curious because why have a working ac button and no ac.
Is there a site or something I can run my VIN to see what options came with my car?
