advice on a dent
 

im looking into buying this 08 civic lx but it has a dent right behind the driver's door (picture below). can anyone give me an estimate on how much it would cost to fix it? also, whats the most you'd pay for this baby?

do you guys think the Slide Hammer Dent Puller would work on this dent?

Just take it to a shop for an estimate. I wouldn't start experimenting if you don't know what you are doing.

You could also try the paintless dent remover (google/youtube it). Some people are able to pop simple dents out using compressed air cans and a heat gun. Simple meaning, one dent, semi-large, and not creased.

dents in the rear 1/4 panel suck. I have some and didn't think it would be a big deal when I bought the car. Needless to say, I can't stand looking at it after 6 years. I just don't have the money to put in for body work on a car that is almost 15 years old :/ Plus, my Civic isn't the "baby" anymore. That's what my Integra is for now :)

Slide hammer or suction cup dent puller are not the way to go. You're only going to cause more damage that will cost you in the long run. With a dent covering an area that size, the metal has been stretched. You won't be able to pull it back to shape with a suc. cup or a slide hammer without working the metal back to size, again. It's definitly a job for a professional, and not a cheap one, either. The whole quarter panel will have to be painted (refinished) and blended to match. I had the right quarter refinished on my 05 Civic and it ran over $1000.00. Keep that in mind before you make the purchase.

I think you could take the fender liner out and press on the back of the dent. Don't expect perfect results from a DIY attempt to simply pop it out though. Like the others said, dents stretch the metal and it's not going to pop back to perfect factory form.
