Aftermarket dash cluster light flickering
 

I have an aftermarket indiglo light in my dash cluster that the previous owner installed that loves to flicker only every once in a while and will not stay on. I've taken it out and I think I found where the red and black wires for the light have been "connected" but they're just stuffed into one of the connectors going to the cluster and just kind of drape across the contacts that they're put into. I'm assuming this is the source of the problem, but does anyone have any other ideas?

I can't really understand exactly what you're saying, but from what I got out of it, I would say you have a grounding issue. I would redo the connections (preferably by soldering and shrink wrapping) and check the chassis ground connection if it has one.

Sounds like someone installed a temporary jumper wire into the connector of the dimmer switch. As Buddy says, fixing this bad set up will likely solve the flickering problem.

I'll be taking apart my dash this weekend, so I'll take some pics to better describe what it is that's wrong.
