air bags
the srs light is on in my 98 LX and was wondering what i needed to do to get rid of it. there are no ecu codes for it, and if it doesnt go away soon im gonna pull the gauge cluster and pull the light for it. also down the road i plan to put an aftermarket steering wheel in my car which requires removing the air bag. will this cause the srs light to come on?? if so to hell with trying to figure out how to fix it i will just pull the bulb.
The SRS light indicates a problem with the airbag system. As for the CEL, there is a way to pull the SRS code, which will tell you what the problem may be. The service manual describes the procedure:

all that gave me a headache. im not the greatest with the electrical side to things, i do better with the mechanical stuff. most of it made sense but outch the headache. is there anyway to get rid of it with a code reader?
