Air Conditioning filter

Hey guys. I need to knwo where and maybe how I can replace the a/c air filter. Also, when is a good time to change it? I mainly want to change it now because its probably saturated in tar.

Model, year, engine, trim all that good stuff will be required.

As I remember, Honda didn't even use a cabin air filter in the Civic until 2003. I've checked my service manuals and it is telling me the same thing.

Is that why when I turn my "climate control" on I get pelted with little seeds and crap from the trees that are over my car? (02 DX)..

haha! Ok. Thanks. I am runging a '00 VP (DX) sedan. I will say though, once in awhile when I am not in my car for a week, the factory honda smell comes back with a vengence. The only other cars i know of that wont be defeated in smell are MB's, bimmers. and range rovers.

Mine is an '01 and I recently changed both cabin air filters...the a/c works like a dream now...they were full of tar, bugs, dust, leaves, you name it...plus the a/c was blowing TOO slow even in the fastest mode....you will breathe better after changing them...

You say yours is an 01 and you have air filters? How'd you go about changing them? I'm kinda curious if mine just doesn't have them, but has a spot for them. (Mind you the DX doesn't come with AC, so I don't know if that makes a difference)....

It is located behind the glove compartment...it is only held by a couple of screws...

And, Remmy... sorry I hijacked the thread..
