always forget oil capacity for my civ.
it's a d15b7 in a 95 civic sedan. whats the number of quarts with the filter for and oil change is it 4 or 5? kinda dumb i know. blah blah blah blah........
The autocross thing is somewhat true. I personally wouldn't half a quart to a 1.5 engine. It kind of depends on the size of your engine. I never add extra when I autocross and havn't had any problems. It's alright to add some if needed but if it's also your daily driver you'll need to drain it back down to save your seals.
I'm pretty sure hndaunt1 is right 3.8qts sounds about what I use in mine. If not sure you can just add 3qts check your oil level and add from there. You'll need to run your engine to fill the filter the add as needed.

ok i thought it was just under four, but wasn't sure. any ways i put in 4 and the dipstick showed right in the middle. even checked it at random intervals to be safe.(no start cold, warmed up trhe cooled down and checked, warmed up and checked, pull over in the middle of driving and checked). All this with in a day of changing the oil to be safe. everytime i checked, it was within dipstick spec. so i gueww i'm good. or should puul the draind poulg sor a sec just to let out the .2 quarts? i' should be good right?
