Am I the only one whose tranny broke 2X?

Geez- first it quit at 75,000 miles, in 2008, now again, quit. Only after 35,000 miles or so. I heard Honda put out quite a lot of tech bulletins on their 2001 trannys. Is this typical?

I'll never buy another AT.........

Oh- it never ever gave me any warnings. That would have been nice......

yes, its super typical. Thats why Craigslist is always jam-packed with 01's for 2 grand.

You say yours has died twice already? Feel like doing it again? No? I'd sell it. Any civic before 01 will be better than what you have now...

I'm happy I got a 5-speed 7th gen.

Sheesh. Thanks guys, for the info. Yes, I could understand a bad honda trans, but couldnt, shouldnt, wouldnt a rebuilt one from a reputable shop in town (such as mine) be able to rebuild with a better lasting trans parts? Or is it that its STILL a honda?

Thanks

I wish I would seen that reflected in the reports touting civic as a good reliable car, then. Whats with these consumer reports? Of course, were talking 2001.......

Wish I knew that, thanks, EM. Is this something a DIY can do who is really handy? I know it is unlikely one can convert to a MT, but this kit, is it also an auto? Does it just pop in? How much does it cost to buy one?

Thaks
