Auxiliary Power Outlet

Hi everyone I am new to the forum so I hope I am posting this in the proper place. Just got a 1997 Civic DX Coupe to be used as a beater car. Is it normal for the APO to only work when car is on? Thanks

Yes. Most Japanese cars work that way. I bypassed the relay in my 1991 so it is always on.
