RE: b16 engine swap questions

try buying a complete swap. make sure you ask for obd2a. if you can't get a complete swap, you will need to get a b-series tranny if the b16 doesn't come with one. you will need to get a 99-00 si rear tranny bracket, and a driverside mount bracket. you also need a dohc vtec ecu. b-series axles are also required and a b-series shift linkage. you will also need to wire vtec and knock sensor. if you already have an EX model, then you don't have to worry about the wirings. make sure to get a 97-and up b16 for smog purposes.

thanks for the help i have the ex model i was eather going to choose between the b16 or just put in the regular stock engine depending on the price if i could get a rough estement that would help some and if anyone could give me a like to a good website that sells b16's or posiblly everything you need for the engine swap i would greatly appreaciate that hopfully the b16 swap will be within my price range or be worth getting one instead of the stock engine

Figure between $3500-$5000 for a complete swap installed by a professional mechanic. If you can do it yourself you can save about $1000.

well the mechanic i took the car to said i need a new crank shaft but i dont think they are being honest, so i might take it to another mechanic and get a second opinion or i think ill just put everything back together and try to start it up and drive it, the worst that can happen is i'll mess up the motor which i was planning on getting another one anyways.
