B18C swap from a 4dr to 2dr Questions??
Hello everyone! I'm brand spanking new here. I am a day away from moving from CO to NM so i'm super busy and can't seem to find conclusive answers to my questions. So i'm sorry if i missed a previous thread about this.
Today i came across a 99 Si blue shell for $2,000 in NM and found out my friend is letting his 97 4dr civic with a b18c (gsr) go for $850 (friend price). I'm trying to guage what this project might cost me but it's so tempting. I've always wanted a 99 Si. That's having a 99 Si with GSR swap for less than $3k =)
I apologize i don't know much about the differences with 2dr and 4dr civics.
My question is will this tranny from a 4dr bolt right up to the 2dr? Will motormounts, axles, header and downpipe be easily swapped?

If it's a legitimate Si shell, you should be able to do a straight swap with very few issues, as the Si used a B series motor stock.
If it's got the original motor mounts in the shell, it'd make it even easier, especially if it's an obd2 spec b18.

Oh yeah you're right the Si uses the b18 block. :P

I'm wondering though if the tranny, header and downpipe from a 4dr will fit a 2dr?

you will need the wiring harness from the Si though. Or a 99-00 EX 5-speed wiring harness. Either way, you will have to modify it for the GSR swap.

I hope the engine harness is still there and not cut from the Si.Are engineharnesses hard to come by?
Either wayI think it's worth it right?
The motor is good and strong. It belongs to my roommate of 3 yrs. I haven't seen the shell yet but the seller says its in good condition just missing engine, tranny, cluster and trunk from a theft.

Ok nevermind the question about harness, they're goin for about $200 on ebay.
I've got another question:
The donor civic is a POS. I'll probably give it awayin the end butshouldn't i be able to use the engine wiring harness from the donor 4dr on the Si and not worry about buying a new one?
