Holly **** lots of help there. Um yeah. I cant even drive the car now. It does not shift properly. And the speedometer is going up and down on its own to like 80 back to 40 then to 10 then 100 km. So that may be the issue. I dont know where this harness is though. I have the Honda Service manual. Im looking but don't see it.

The wiring in question is on the back side of the engine. It branches out of the big harness near the thermostat. Then it goes across and connects to speed sensor, oil pressure switch, and alternator and maybe a few other things. It's very easy to see from under the car. I think the trouble spot is where it goes over the steel bracket that braces the bottom of the intake manifold to the engine block.

Yeah, ive tried to follow the wires but it is very hard from the top and since i don't have a garage, i can just jack my car up. Now i know where the white wire that goes to the bat is located (beside the battery fuse box, but the green wires (3 of them i think), where do they go. Now, do some of those wires go directly from the alt to the speed sensor?

If your car is stock height (not lowered), the easiest way to raise it to work on stuff like this at home is a pair of ramps. You can use them anywhere that is reasonably level.

I would post pics but i don't have my SD card for digi.

Heres what i did so far. Removed ECU and cleaned some corroded connections (old car needed it). Check all fuses that i could find in service manual that pertained to speed sensor, batt light and alternator. Cleaned speed sensor connection and some vertical shaft speed sensor. Terminals on battery are spotless. Alternator connections are spotless.

Now get this, after doing all of that, the car is suddenly shifting properly. But....... THE LIGHT IS STILL ON and the SPEEDOMETER IS STILL NOT WORKING.

Q: The speed sensor, does those wires go to like say the computer to detect the speed for shifting purposes and then there is a wire that goes from the computer to speedometer to show the speed. Maybe there is 2 problems. A short for the bat light, and the speedometer is broken or also shorted out.

Because if the car is detecting a bunch of random speeds like before, would it not have trouble to shift. Thing is, the speedometer is not moving anymore. Its confusing. Correct me if im incorrect.

I was going to try and do Error coding but i disable the ABS light due to it not working, as well as the check engine light because my dads obi2 detector said i needed to replace a sensor for the cat witch i could not get out because of rust. So thats out of the questions. But, i may have no choice to reconnect them and try.

Any other suggestions that people would recommended. Is there a test i can do for the speedometer. For the batt, il bring my car to a local shop and have them check if i cant find the problem.

no the ecu doesnt go by speed sensor to shift,
the speed sensor plug could be bad, ive had that problem with my sedan, i cut the plug from the harness and wired a new one in.
you can take pics with a cell phone then text them to your email address and then post pics thats how i do it.

Since the alt controls the bat light, could i just rewire those and see what happens. I just need to know where the 3 wires go. that wont take long to do.

This is sounding more and more like the classic fuse 15 bug. It really seems like the wires behind the engine are bad. You need to get under the car and check / repair those first. The circuit also goes to the O2 sensors, if fuse 15 is out, you will get an O2 sensor code even though the sensor is good.

The speed sensor goes to the speedometer / odometer (of course), ECU, air bag control unit, cruise control (if equipped), and I think the ABS as well. It is one wire out of the sensor which branches somewhere under the dash to all those things.

Ive checked Fuse 15 and it looked fine. Im still going to measure the fuse and confirm that. Is it possible for me to say **** the harness, and wire some new connections my self. Because if i can do that, i will.

Also, is there a way to measure and confirm if my speedometer is broken or if it is just the wiring. Funny thing is, ive put about 300KM since the problem started and it dose not seam to be affecting the car at all.

The fact that light is on i have no clue. The battery is fine, alternator seams fine, and well the trans problem was fixed after i cleaned some of the terminals.

Now if i can rewire, does the connection from the speedometer go directly to the sensor on the transmission or do they stop somewhere before that. I have also changed my transmission on the car, so i do have some sensor's that i kept from the old one. Not shure witch ones.
