best plugs, about to do a tuneup on my 92 civic...
i was thinking about doing a tuneup on my 92 civic lx. what are the best spark plugs, wires, air filter, etc, and where can i find them? i just want the maximum gas per mileage so i wont mind paying for good stuff....
and also 2 things:
1. if i put 15" or 14" rims on my civic, will it effect the gas mileage?? i took my 17"s off cause way too many potholes (live in NYC), but with the 13"s, i can feel every bump
2. i have performance headers and some performance muffler (previous owner did the mods)...does that affect my gas mileage? would changing back to stock increase my MPG??
i'm really trying to get the best MPG possible, i'm not looking at all to modify, i just want everything as stock as possible

get a stock style K&N filter, they're way better and might help with gas mileage a little.
changing to stock for the header and muffler will probably decrease gas mileage.
your sig says 40mpg, and that's probably the most you're going to get out of a D15B7.
on the rims, theoretically, bigger rims would help with highway mileage because of the momentum they give, but would be worse for city driving because it takes more to get the bigger rims moving. smaller rims will get better city gas mileage, and worse highway mileage. this is because it takes more pressure on the gas to keep them moving at highway speeds, because they don't have that much momentum.
you might have noticed that when you let off the gas with your 17s the car slowed down at a way slower rate than with the smaller rims.
so for best balanced gas mileage i'd go with some 15 inch rims. if you do highway more than city, i'd say go with 16 inch.
you shouldn't be feeling every bump with 13s. 13s should be comfy as hell. i'd check your shocks to see if they're messed up.
does your car bounce over bumps? like after you hit the bump does the car keep oscillating?
it should only compress the shock and return to normal, with little to no oscillating. If there is oscillation, your shocks are probably bad.

ok, cool...so:
1. could i find those stock plugs and wires at autozone?
2. i should have phrased it properly..the 13"s are comfy, not necessarily feel every bump. its more like if i hit a pothole of some sort, i'll feel like my rim is hitting something cause the tires are small.
3. i can say that i do maybe 70% highway, 30% city. so maybe 15"s would be good?? does the size of the tires matter?

Of course the tire size matters! You want the overall diameter of the wheel+tire to be the same as that of the stock wheel+tire diameter. For 15 inch rims you will need 195/50-15 tires
