Blinking D and occasional ABS and Brake light on
 

I just bought from a dear old friend a 2010 Honda Civic. It has 8,300 miles on it and is in mint condition.
Every third time I turn the engine on the ABS and Brake light come on and and the D light blinks. After about 5-10 minutes the ABS and Brake light go off but the BLINKING D stays on. 2 to 3 other times, no light is on, just normal.

I have taken it to 2 Honda dealers for diagnosis. And one highly reputable Honda shop. All diagnosis pointed to replacing the ABS monitor($1400). And next step if that doesn't work to replace the control module ($1083.00). Both jobs would I have to pay even if they didn't solve the problem.

The honda repair shop did both with used but good parts and neither one fixed the problem. Honda shop is convinced his parts were good and neither of the above are is the problem.
Car drives fine? What gives? Any ideas? Should I drive this car?
