Blower motor blues

I goofed I think... lost 2 low speeds on blower motor. Changed motor and put cage back on shaft but not all the way. Unknowingly remounted motor and still no lower 2 speeds but cage dragged from mis alignment andlost power to 2 upper speeds. Now its dead. Pulled relay at under hood pass. fuse box and destroyed it in doing so. Now dont what to do. Been wrenchig for 40 years but feel very new and dumb at this point. Need guidance....

make shure the switch is good and also on the blower when you have it out , check if the little metal terminal things are not snapped or broken, cuz i had the same problem on my old car

Goto the dealership and buy a new Fan ressitor pack, it's what controlls the fan speed (when mine went out it was nothing till full on). On my 96 the unit is mounted behind the glove box...
