Default Blower Motor and Wheel (Pictures)

I was on here asking about what could be the cause of the loud noise in my Civic when the fan was turned on. Everyone told me to look into the Blower Motor. I took it out and there were a lot of leaves inside. I cleared the leaves the cleaned the bottom side of the wheel because it was black and peices of plastic from the wheel were rubing off onto the motor. I put the Blower Motor back in and I still have no air coming from the vents but the sound isnt as loud. Do I need to replace the entire setup or do you think just the wheel needs to be replaced. Below are pictures, Im uploading a short video of the sound coming from the blower motor.

Cleaned wheel, the black streaks are on the interior of the wheel, I have no idea how they were burned in.

Video of the noise it makes (after cleaning it, it sounded worse before)

EDIT:

I noticed this was a Denso blower motor, does this mean this was a replacement for the OEM or did Honda use Denso?

Looks like the shaft is broken. There should be a nut on the top of the shaft holding the wheel on. The hole in the center of the wheel is wallowed out from spinning loose on the shaft. So, replace both. I think they are always sold together anyway.

You think the motor itself is good since it does spin apparently to make that sound. The shaft was a little torn up but it seemed to be in one peice. The clamp (the ones you use plyers to put over the shaft) was there and seemed to work.

I think your onto something. Judging by the sound, the motor must be working properly right? The wear and tear marks in the wheel are probably a sign that the wheel is loose and is banging up against the blower motor.

I wonder if they sell just the wheel and clamp seperately.

Check the motor by itself: the shaft should only have a little play moving in and out of the motor, and absolutely none from side to side. It should spin quietly when plugged into the car without the wheel attached.

Your right, the shaft is damaged which causes the wheel to spin even without the blower motor. The blower metal peice moves freely but the wheel shouldn't be able to spin without the wheel moving.

It still sucks because im 99% sure noone will sell just the wheel.

I just plugged it back in without the wheel and the sound was still there, but the metal peice did spin freely. Apparently the wheel and the motor are bad. Looks like Im off to ebay to buy a replacement set. Atleast now I dont feel so bad about buying a whole new set!

Ebay has used Blower Motors for $25 and generic brands new for $42, which would you go with?

If it's used, you might end up with the same problem later on. I'd go with new.

It is probably the bearing. I had a 98 Civic coupe where it went bad and helped my brother fix his 98 sedan about a year or so ago since his was making the same noise.

How did you fix this? Did you buy a new Blower Motor?

The one in my 98 coupe eventually stopped making noise. My brother (sedan) replaced his from a 96 which was sitting in a junk yard. He hasn't had any problems so far that I know of.
