My brake light comes on around the time when I need to shift and turns off. Wondering why it does it? Could it be a short or what can it be. It just started doing it and now its doing it more and more. It reminds me of a light that reminds you to shift, but it obviously isn't.

 

The brake fluid is low. As the car moves, what little you have sloshes around in the reservoir and trips the float switch on and off. Add more brake fluid and if it goes down again, look for the leak.
