Default Brake lights will not go off! On a 96 Civic DX.

Please help me I just notice that me Brake lights will not go off even when I shut the car off. I have a 96 Civic DX four door.

Check the brake lights switch at the top of the brake pedal:

It's the rubber/plastic stopper that pushes the button on the brake pedal switch. It's busted.

Push in the button on the switch with your finger. If the lights go out, switch is OK and like trustdestruction said, almost certainly the little rubber bumper has fallen off.

Yeah it was the Rubber Bumper just a pain in the *** to figure out! I found the old one on my floor board I was like what the hell!
