brakes

A while back I replaced the brakes, it felt like the rotors were warped because when I slow down my car kind of lurches...and you could feel it in the brake pedal. It's hard to explian, but it was alomost like when Im on the brakes, the pedal would virbrate slightly, and the it would feel like I was on and off the brakes slightly...I hope you guys understand what I'm talking about, I have no idea what the technical term is for that. Hell, I dont even know if warped rotors would be a cause off that, but that's what I thought it was in my head, so I went adhead and replced the pads and rotors, I got brembo OE style rotors, and haws ceramic pads. After I replaced everything, brake lurching I described above went away, but now about 10k miles later, it's back. I always tighten my lug nuts to 80ft-lbs, and I do all my own maitenence on the car, so my wheels havent seen an impact wrech since the new rotors went on.

Does anyone know what my problem could be?

RE: brakes

its warped rotors ,what happens is the rotors get hot then cool down fast ,like heavy braking then hitting a puddle of water
you can take the off & get them machined , but keep in mind thin rotors warp faster do to the fact their thinner, & some machine shops charge $10 - 20 ea to machine them, so sometimes its better to buy new

Try and determine if it is one rotor warped or both, if just one you may have a sticky caliper or blocked hose on that side causing it to overheat. Another test is to drive for a ways without using the brakes much, then park and check that the front wheels aren't getting too hot. In particular that one is not hotter than the other.

I've warped a brand new pair of rotors in less than 10 miles because the calipers were bad and dragging, so they overheated.
